Unlike generic workplace rankings, the TPSE Awards focus solely on public sector organizations, evaluating key criteria such as:
Commitment to employee well-being and work-life balance
Innovative practices in recruitment, retention, and engagement
Transparent and forward-thinking compensation policies
Inclusive workplace cultures that prioritize mental health and flexibility
The TPSE is an annual program recognizing organizations excelling in creating supportive and forward-thinking work environments, fostering employee satisfaction, and empowering emerging leaders.
Award Categories
Applications are evaluated across seven key categories:
Employee Compensation and Benefits:
Assessment of pay practices, benefits, and salary determination processes.
Employee
Development:
Evaluation of training, professional development opportunities, and recognition programs.
Employee Resources and Support:
Examination of additional resources such as mental health programs, tuition assistance, and employee-led groups.
Employee Satisfaction, Engagement, and Trust:
Analysis of programs, policies, and actions fostering workplace engagement and trust.

Retention:
Review of retention data and practices, including stay and exit interviews.

Recruitment:
Assessment of equitable and transparent recruitment practices.
Leadership:
Evaluation of leadership practices, decision-making processes, and adherence to organizational ethics.
Scoring and Evaluation
Each application is assessed on four qualities:
Completeness: Addresses all requirements with sufficient detail.

Clarity: Responses are clear, coherent, and easy to understand.

Employee Experience and Impact: Demonstrates positive effects of policies and programs on employees.

Attachment Quality: Includes relevant, clearly labeled, and well-contextualized attachments.

Applications are scored on a scale of 1 to 10 within each of these above categories, with 10 representing excellence. Scores are weighted across the seven core categories to arrive at a total score.
